Piaget Piaget Altiplano Skeleton Watches Support Only Watch Charity Auction

Piaget participated in the Only Watch charity auction for the 5th consecutive year. The donated watch is an individually limited Altiplano skeleton watch to support the medical research of Duchenne muscular dystrophy. . The auction will target independent limited-edition watches, and all proceeds will be donated to the medical team engaged in the research of the disease.
The Only Watch Charity Auction is convened by the Patronage of HRH Prince Albert II of Monaco and is held every two years. The auction items are unique and limited edition watches that partner watchmakers will tailor-made for them. The limited number of watches participating in the auction this year will be as high as 40 pieces.

In support of this charity auction, Piaget reinterpreted its most recognizable Altiplano skeleton watch and launched a brand-new limited edition rebuilt from the original series: Piaget Altiplano 38mm Only Watch 2013 Skeleton 1200S skeleton watch. With an ultra-thin movement as the heart, the Piaget Only Watch unique Piaget watch is exclusively equipped with Piaget’s own 1200S ultra-thin skeleton automatic winding mechanical movement-the world’s thinnest automatic skeleton movement (thickness only 2.40 mm) The thinnest automatic skeletonized watch (only 5.34 mm thick) is the ultimate symbol of the perfect fusion of the world’s top watchmaking skills. The carefully calculated and engraved 1200S movement is plated with black PVD for the first time. In order to further echo the movement’s exquisite mechanical curve, it is even more specifically mounted in a unique black case at night. To highlight the charitable pedigree of this watch for the Only Watch event, the outer edge of the case back is decorated with the words ‘Only Watch 2013–unique piece’.
Proceeds from this Altiplano uniquely limited watch auction will be donated to the Monaco Association against Muscular Dystrophy, an opportunity for Piaget to contribute to the medical research of Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Duchenne muscular dystrophy is a neuromuscular disease that affects one out of every 3,500 boys, and may even cause death. The funds raised in the past four Only Watch charity events have made significant progress in related medical research, and the pre-auction global tour preview has brought the disease to the public’s attention. This year, the Only Watch global tour will stop in Singapore (September 7th-The Hour Glass watch and jewelry boutique), Hong Kong (September 9th-Antiquorum auction), Shanghai (September 12th) Day 13), Beijing (September 14), New York (September 16th-Antiquorum Auction), Geneva (September 23-24th Antiquorum Auction), and the terminal Monaco (September 25th, 28th).
