From Pocket Watch to Watch: Lange’s 1815 Series Roving Exhibition Lands in Taipei
From July this year, Saxony’s traditional watchmaking brand Lange exhibited a number of classic pocket watch masterpieces in Hong Kong, Taipei, Beijing and Shanghai, as well as the brand’s founder Ferdinando. The Lange watch factory’s early pocket watches laid the foundation for the design of the 1815 watch series.
The number ‘1815’ is significant to Lange: it is Ferdinando, the legendary founder of the watch factory. Adolf. The birth year of Lange also represents the era when mankind began to use scientific knowledge flexibly, thus entering the beginning of modern society; the best proof is the pocket watches made by Lange watch factory with cutting-edge technology and craftsmanship. The modern Lange watch series is inherited by Ferdinando. Adolf. Lange and his sons set the standard for fine watchmaking technology and craftsmanship. Among them, the 1815 series pays tribute to this valuable year of 1815 with traditional design elements such as blue steel hands, Arabic numerals and train track minutes. 1815 became a model of Lange’s watchmaking tradition.
Two new models of the 1815 family: 1815 Rattrapante Perpetual Calendar and 1815 Up / Down will appear in this touring exhibition.
